Tankette

Tankette is a small unmanned hovering guard MT that appears a few times throughout the original Armored Core game as enemies.

Overview

Coming in two models, the Tankette is a small unmanned hovering guard MT, about half the size of an AC and looks like a sled. The main difference between the two models are their armaments and colours.

Types

Type-M

Type-M

The most common Tankette design. Type-M (Missile) is equipped with a missile launcher on the back and is coloured red. Although they have high AP for their size they are easy to destroy as they move slowly and their attack power is low.

Type-E

Type-E

Only appearing in one mission Destroy Fuel Depot Type-E (Electronic Warfare) features no weapons and is coloured blue. Instead this type features electronic jamming capabilties that makes other units unable to lock on to them and see them on radar. This however takes no effect on an AC equipped with a head with the noise canceller function. Although they like the Type-M have high AP for their size they pose no real threat due to them being unarmed.

Appearances

Appearing in three missions as enemies, Tankettes are being used by Murakumo Millennnium. They appear in the missions:

• Destroy Fuel Depot (Type-E)
• Reclaim Oil Facility (Type-M)
• Destroy "Justice" (Type-M)

Trivia

• Tankettes are a type of real world armored fighting vehicles. It may also simply mean a "small tank".
