Gerald Gendlin is a Lynx that appears in Armored Core: For Answer. He is ranked #5 ranked in Collared.

In-Game BiographyEdit

He is the successor to Noblesse Oblige, regarded as the symbol of Rosenthal. Its shoulder equipped multi-lasers unleash astounding firepower. High AMS aptitude and mental stability make Gerald an ideal Lynx for the League's ranks.

InformationEdit

Gerald Gendlin is the spiritual successor of Leonhardt's Noblesse Oblige. His motives for taking on the role are very clear as he follows a strict code of honor. He appears as both an enemy and ally based on The Raven's decisions. His natural talent and honed skills are made very clear as The League's primary NEXTs consider him to take on the primary and leading position of Collared. His name is brought up by Wynne D. Fanchon in the line, "Hmph. So you think you can take their place? What about Gerald?".

QuotesEdit

  • Defend Arteria Carpals
    • All defensive emplacements, destroyed...? They didn't last twenty seconds out there. Noblesse Oblige, targeting the blue Irregular.
    • You think you can accomplish anything with one NEXT? This Irregular's a bit too cocky.
    • Enemy NEXT destroyed. Guess that's it. They've thrown first-class NEXTs at us. Damn reactionary forces. What are they thinking?
  • Attack on Arteria Carpals
    • Sorry to crash the party. Little hit-and-run bandits like you know no honor. I envy your simple life. Void of responsibility.
    • I don't believe it. Noblesse Oblige... we still have work to do!

GameplayEdit

Gerald is an NPC in Armored Core: For Answer. He is an ally in "Defend Arteria Carpals" and an enemy in "Attack Arteria Carpals."

StrategyEdit

In comparison to Leonhardt of Armored Core 4, Gerald is much easier to defeat due to the particular layout of the mission. In "Attack Arteria Carpals," Noblesse Oblige appears a little while after the mission begins. He uses the lone highway connecting Carpals to another far away city, making it simple to ambush and destroy him. The fastest way is to use two back mounted Kojima cannons and just wait for him at the edge of the combat area. As soon as he gets within shooting distance, just blast him and he will be immediately destroyed as long as you don't miss. Despite this, Gerald is a lot more tactical than Leonhardt, dodging more and utilizing his laser cannons more often, unlike Leonhardt. If Noblesse Oblige gets into the battle field, using the back mounted gatling cannons will easily disable it, but make sure that you take out the auto cannons before Noblesse Oblige arrives for they can be a great nuisance.

TriviaEdit

  • Gerald's Noblesse Oblige was made into a Model Kit.
  • Leonhardt's emblem is reused as the "shield" that the knight holds in Gerald's emblem. This refers to Noblesse Oblige being "inherited" to another generation.
  • The back mounted tri-lasers of his NEXT now have a reddish color, similar to Stasis' laser bazooka rather than the bluish color of Leonhardt's in Armored Core 4.
  • The knight depicted on Gerald's emblem has a striking resemblance to the fluted knight of Demon's Souls
  • Noblesse Oblige is one of several Armored Core NEXTs to have model kits based on its design.
