The 048AC-S is a middleweight Normal encountered throughout Armored Core 4 and Armored Core: For Answer.
Overview[]
Based around the 044AC, the 048AC-S is a special operations Normal designed by the Bernard and Felix Foundation as an extreme-range arctic warfare sniper. The 048AC-S was designed specifically for the defense of BFF's Sphere Facility .
This unit retains all of the advantages and reliability of the 044AC, with the inclusion of a more powerful and accurate sniper cannon, and what appears to be extension parts on their shoulders, responsible for the dense ECM fields that are encountered when these units are present.
The 048AC-S is exlusive to BFF's elite unit, Silent Avalanche. The effectiveness of this unit is notorious. Silent Avelanche has been said to have repelled every attempt by the other companies to take the Sphere, and were considered more powerful than standard NEXTs. By the time of Armored Core: For Answer however, they have become somewhat outdated. The 048AC-S and Silent Avelanche appear only three times; once in Armored Core 4, and twice in Armored Core: For Answer
