"Piloting an AC is a cinch when you get the hang of it! My brother said heavy armor'd do the trick! Try me now, why dontcha?! Wa ha ha!" - Brother K to ACV's Protagonist

Brother K is a Migrant pilot encountered in Armored Core V's Order Missions. Brother K appears as the main enemy of Order Mission 11. He pilots the AC Olympia III.

Overview[]

Encountered in Order Mission 11 at the Mining Facility, Brother K is an overly confident and stubborn individual that often seeks advise from his brothers, without considering his options beforehand. His AC, Olympia III, is a craft of the heavyweight reverse-jointed class, sporting a vivid green coloration. It features average AP with superior jumping capability and can be a somewhat frustrating opponent for new players, as he tends to jump around the battlefield a fair bit.

AC Olympia III[]

In-game Information: An AC with AP-focused parts on its heavyweight, reverse-jointed legs. Excels at both medium- and close-range combat wit its battle rifle and handgun, but its weapons are low grade.

Olympia III is a bit of a far cry compared to other AC's encountered in the Order Missions up to this point. Even for new players, most won't have much of a problem defeating him, as he lacks in overall mobility, and has terrible trouble turning due to his AC's legs. His overall weapon loadout is also poor, with just a low-grade battle rifle and handgun as its only weaponry.

His AC features a slightly higher AP count for a heavyweight reverse joint, due to using both a combination of high-AP CE and TE parts. Due to the focus on overall lifespan, the craft suffers from having below-average defensive resistances across the board, which makes it incredibly vulnerable to coordinated, enemy attacks.

Overall, the AC has high AP that is offset by its low mobility, shoddy defenses and weak weapons. In a one-on-one fight against another AC, Olympia III will often fall to them, not having the agility or sheer defense to deflect attacks.

Strategy[]

Like any AC you have encountered up until this point, they may appear to be dangerous, but if you catch them off guard, you will win.

Your battle with Olympia III is within the Mining Facility; or more specifically, within that territory's residential sector, the area with all of the large buildings. His AC is directly in front of you at the beginning, but once your combat mode is engaged, he will instantly hide behind the building on his left (your right respectively).

Once he has done that, it gives you a few moments to decide as to how you will defeat him. Advanced players will find him a breeze to take down, but for newer players, here is one method you can use to defeat him:

Once the fight begins, and he disappears, wait for him. Once he jumps over the cluster of buildings to your right, boost way and move in a zig-zag fashion, as it will throw off his aim. While you are evading hit him with your weapons as much as possible before finding cover to prepare another attack run.

Recommendation of using the buildings for cover cannot be stressed enough, it not only helps with evading potentially damaging attacks, but also breaks their lock on you, prompting them to search for you. This, in most situations, gives you a small respite to think over how you will defeat your enemy. Up against Olympia III, this is no different, using the buildings as a potential shield and then take the occasional potshot will yield you with an AP and damage advantage while he wastes firing precious battle rifle ammo your way, only for the buildings to take the hit instead.

His weapons are fairly weak, but do take note that if you lack adequate defenses or stability, they will pose a significant threat, especially his battle rifle. His attacks patterns are discernible; he will whittle down your defenses and AP with his battle rifle, while stunning you with his handgun. By the time you have managed to get yourself out of that jam, you will realize you've lose a significant another AP to his attacks.

A more advanced strategy you can give a go at is to simply dash around him in circles, and punch him full of holes. Due to his AC's configuration, his overall defense is low, but this is made up for in terms of AP, making him (overall) fairly difficult to take down at this stage in the game, if you have started off completely fresh. His resistance is CE is incredible for such a HRJ (at 3317) and means that battle rifles and missiles are out of the question, they will be useless in this fight, simply bouncing off of his armor every time.

While this limits you in the damage department a fair bit, it gives some of the weaker weapons in your possession a damage boost. His KE and TE defenses are in the low (at 860 and 1130 respectively), meaning that most of your least favorite weapons will substantially more damage to him.

Weapons such as rifles, handguns, shotguns, gatling guns, pulse guns, pulse machine guns, laser rifles and laser blades will do incredible amounts of damage to his craft. Shoulder equipment such as HEAT Rockets, Rocket Launcher and Spread Missile will deal some good amount of hurt too. Simply equip a high damage craft with the parts you can use, and rip him to pieces.

Simply try this strategy with any weapon configuration (using the weapons listed above) and he will be dead in a matter of seconds.

Trivia[]
